Ted Danson (born Edward Bridge Danson III on December 29, 1947 in San Diego, California) is an American actor, author, and producer. He is best known for his lead character, Sam Malone, on Cheers, and on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Cyber as Dr. John Becker. Ted has also played a recurring role on Curb Your Enthusiasm, and has most recently starred in Damages alongside Glenn Close.
