ARIANA Grande and Lady Gaga wore bondage-styled masks during their performance of Rain On Me at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Gaga performed various tracks from her latest album, Chromatica, while featuring multiple costume changes as Ariana also appeared to perform alongside her.

The exciting performance found Gaga lying on the floor while wearing the same pink outfit from the Rain on Me music video.

Both superstars wore masks while on stage as Gaga spoke to the crowd afterwards and said, "I want you to love yourself, tonight and every night. Celebrate yourself. Love who you are. Be kind. Mask up. Be brave — and braver all the time.”

This comes after Ariana, 27, shared her excitement on Instagram on performing at the MTV VMA's alongside Gaga, 34.

The singer took to Instagram to share various photos of herself in a tight dark shirt that rested way above her knees.

She captioned it: "happy VMA day ::) so excited for u see our first rain on me performance tonight!"

"@ladygaga is f**king incredible and i’m so honored to share this moment with her and u all - also just want to say thank you to @MTV being so diligent in making this such a safe & healthy experience for all of the performers and crew involved.

"It’s so greatly appreciated and i can’t imagine how difficult it was to figure out! see u all so soon!"

Just hours before the big event Gaga took to Instagram to tease her performance with a photo rocking candy floss pink hair as it flowed over her shoulders.
